Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to join our IT team in Kansas City, KS. This is an individual contributor role responsible for the daily administration, monitoring, and strategic maintenance of our global IT systems. The Systems Administrator will serve as the key technical resource for the performance, availability, and security of our server, storage, and application infrastructure. Requires occasional domestic (US) and international travel for system implementation and high-level support.

What you will be doing

Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers running Windows Server and Linux operating systems

Manage virtualization environments including VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper‑V, including host and guest lifecycle management

Administer core services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and identity management

Proactively monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure high availability for critical business applications

Develop, test, and execute data backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity

Apply regular updates, patches, and security configurations to server operating systems and applications

Enforce security policies on all server assets and endpoints

Collaborate with security teams on vulnerability remediation and access control

Ensure systems meet internal IT standards and industry compliance regulations

Provide Tier 2 / 3 technical support for escalated server and system issues

Manage user accounts, system access, and resource allocation

Collaborate with the IT Director on infrastructure upgrades and contribute technical expertise to long-term systems strategy

Required Qualifications

5+ years of hands‑on experience administering enterprise‑level server environments

Expertise in Windows Server (2016 / 2019 / 2022) administration and troubleshooting

Mandatory proficiency in managing and maintaining VMware vSphere or Hyper‑V virtualization environments

Strong practical knowledge of Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, and DHCP

Experience with disaster recovery planning and backup systems

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical issues into business terms

Ability to thrive in a collaborative, small, and dynamic IT team environment

Preference considered for

Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or equivalent

VMware Certified Professional (VCP)

Certifications related to storage or Linux administration
