Our client is currently seeking a
Level 4 Networking Technician
to join their team onsite in Hillsboro, OR. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data center operations, structured cabling, and Smart Hands support. This role involves hands‑on work with network and server equipment, supporting installations, troubleshooting, and service requests in collaboration with remote L2/L3 network teams.
This position requires working in data centers and network environments, providing critical infrastructure support to ensure operational continuity. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail‑oriented, and comfortable handling both independent and team‑based technical tasks.
Duties And Responsibilities
Provide on‑site "Smart Hands" support for incident and service request resolution
Assist remote engineering teams with troubleshooting and hardware replacements
Perform racking, stacking, cabling, and configuration of network and server devices
Install and maintain structured network cabling (Cat5, Cat6, fiber optics)
Execute patching, cable management, labeling, and documentation per standards
Conduct equipment moves, installations, and connectivity testing
Use diagnostic tools (Fluke, OTDR, AirCheck) for copper and fiber testing
Perform physical infrastructure maintenance: cable trays, racks, and pathway systems
Track, update, and resolve ServiceNow tickets within SLAs
Support data center logistics including equipment receipt, staging, and inventory control
Adhere to quality, safety, and operational protocols at all times
Skills And Qualifications
Minimum 4+ years of experience in network or infrastructure support (data center or lab environment)
Experience with racking, stacking, cabling, and configuring networking hardware
Strong understanding of Ethernet switching, VLANs, IP addressing, and wireless systems
Skilled with fiber and copper cabling: Cat5e/Cat6, RJ45, ST, SC, LC connectors
Familiarity with Fluke testing tools and network troubleshooting
Knowledge of ServiceNow, Microsoft Office Suite, and Windows 10
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs., work on ladders, and travel between buildings as needed
Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
Network Cabling Certifications preferred:
Belden Certified Cable Installer
SYSTIMAX Installation & Maintenance
Corning Certified Fiber Installer
Panduit Certification
CompTIA Network+ or equivalent (preferred)
Wage Range The rate for this position is between
$21.00 - $25.00 per hour.
Factors that may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
