IT Support Specialist, UNLV University Libraries [R0148749] Join the University of Nevada – Las Vegas (UNLV) as an IT Support Specialist in the Library Systems department. The role reports to the Head of Library Systems and provides direct support to staff and patrons at the main library, four branch libraries, and remote locations.

Key Responsibilities

Process approved technology purchases using an assigned Purchasing Card (PCard), maintaining documentation and reconciliation of transactions.

Conduct inventory and auditing of technology assets, using tools such as Google Sheets and Microsoft Access.

Maintain robust documentation of responsibilities.

Provide technology support via a ticketing system and optimize workflow for the department.

Troubleshoot and resolve technology problems and train library staff.

Interact with campus colleagues, vendors, and technology professionals.

Setup, configure, secure, maintain, and support endpoint hardware and software (Windows, macOS, iPadOS, and network devices).

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in information systems, computer science, or a related field (accredited).

3 years of experience as an IT support specialist or equivalent.

Competence in serving a highly diverse population.

Experience with modern endpoint operating systems (Windows, macOS, iPadOS).

Technical familiarity with installing, troubleshooting, securing, and optimizing client endpoint devices in an enterprise environment.

Hardware repair expertise (motherboard, memory, drives, laptop screens).

Software license management knowledge.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and inclusive collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting technology in an educational environment.

Experience maintaining and reconciling a Purchasing Card.

Certifications in Google Workspace, Microsoft Endpoint Management, or vendor hardware repair.

Salary This is a full‑time, 12‑month Administrative Faculty position at Grade B. Minimum salary is $60 000 per year.
