What you’ll do The Senior Director of Procurement is responsible for developing and executing the strategic sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of raw materials and capital equipment across Niron. This role ensures alignment with business objectives, drives cost efficiencies, and supports large‑scale construction and manufacturing initiatives. The Senior Director will oversee supplier relationships, contract execution, category strategy development for raw materials, and direct and indirect spend management. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics and a proven track record in procurement leadership within a manufacturing environment.

Strategic Leadership

Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to align sourcing strategies with product development and production needs

Drive thought leadership in developing and implementing procurement guidelines and sourcing strategies

Develop plans and deliver results in a fast‑changing business environment

Anticipate internal/external business challenges to drive change

Lead and develop a high‑performing procurement team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement

Provide strategic direction and mentorship to team members, supporting career growth and skill development

Grow and develop talent through clear performance expectations, coaching, and regular feedback

Category Management

Lead and execute the purchasing and supply management activities for all categories and sub‑categories of capex and raw materials

Train internal stakeholders on category strategy application

Monitor compliance and adjust strategies based on performance metrics

Supplier and Market Management

Identify, evaluate and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost‑effectiveness and timely delivery

Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and business requirements to optimize sourcing decisions

Cultivate strong, strategic relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders

Conduct supplier performance reviews and risk mitigation planning

Contracting and Negotiation

Lead supplier selection, negotiation, and performance management to ensure quality, cost, and delivery goals are met

Lead negotiations for multi‑million‑dollar equipment and raw materials contracts

Collaborate with legal and commercial teams to develop fit‑for‑purpose contract templates

Ensure favorable terms and risk mitigation in all agreements

Cost Optimization and Value Creation

Establish and track key procurement metrics to ensure cost efficiency and supply chain effectiveness

Identify and drive cost‑saving opportunities and value‑added initiatives across the category

Leverage extensive market and supplier knowledge to drive lower TCO

Drive working capital improvements and operational efficiencies

What we’re looking for

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field

Expertise in category management of capex and raw materials strategy

Solid experience in strategic sourcing and/or category management in manufacturing or industrial sectors

Proven experience with supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost analysis

Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, and thought leadership skills

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

Strong capabilities in building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems

Experience leading a team

Nice to have

Start‑up or scaling a business experience

Experience with global suppliers

Deep knowledge of industrial equipment (e.g. chemical plant capex, powder metallurgy presses, machining tools, robotics, etc.)

Our pay and benefits

Salary: $180,000 – $230,000 depending on experience, education, and skills

Equity position in Niron via stock option grant
