Job Summary The Senior Automation Field Supervisor – Critical Infrastructure is a boots‑on‑the‑ground leader for hyperscale and colocation data‑center builds ranging from 40MW to 200MW. You will orchestrate multi‑discipline technical field crews—BAS technicians, PLC Software Engineers, SCADA Engineers, low‑voltage electricians, and commissioning agents—to deliver fully integrated PLC, DDC, and SCADA solutions on aggressive speed‑to‑market schedules.
The Senior Automation Field Supervisor – Critical Infrastructure when project mobilization occurs you will oversee all execution on site including installation, BIM team coordination, L2 install testing, L3 start‑up, Level4 functional testing, and Level5 Integrated Systems Testing (IST) for BAS/PLC/SCADA scope.
The Senior Automation Field Supervisor – Critical Infrastructure will serve as primary site contact for GC superintendents, owner construction managers, and mechanical and electrical equipment startup and service teams. You will own execution of STC field toolkits including project management tools integration, BIM 360, digital pre‑task planning, Safety program execution and reporting — and drive lessons learned into corporate playbooks.
The Senior Automation Field Supervisor – Critical Infrastructure will self‑direct on day‑to‑day work and receives high level instruction on new projects, tasks or assignments.
The Senior Automation Field Supervisor – Critical Infrastructure will execute and lead teams and projects, tasks or assignments of complex scope. May coordinate activities of other personnel.
This person will communicate and operate in line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmental objectives.
Essential Functions Construction and Installation Management (40%)
Develop 3‑week look‑ahead schedules for automation, electrical, and network tasks; coordinate with GC master schedule
Direct field crews on conduit / cable tray installation, panel mounting, device terminations, network bus terminations, and copper and fiber pulls
Enforce QA/QC checkpoints for installation and automation scope
Direct and monitor subcontractors (onsite and offsite) including scheduling, resource management and coordination of construction and start‑up services as needed.
Startup, Commissioning, and IST Coordination (25%)
Coordinate Level2 installation QA checks, Level 3 point‑to‑point checkout, Level4 functional testing, and Level5 IST with internal and external stakeholders including commissioning authority
Manage testing documentation and help drive issue closure with technical staff to ensure schedule compliance
Safety, Risk and Change Management (15%)
Champion NFPA70E and OSHA compliance; chair daily toolbox and weekly safety stand‑downs
Develop Methods of Procedure (MOPs) and Energized Work Permits; manage live system cutovers
Identify scope gaps, draft RFIs, and prepare field change orders for project managers
Client and Stakeholder Relations (10%)
Lead Big‑Room coordination meetings with construction teams
Manage site project communication and reporting including site progress updates, 3‑week lookaheads, and multimedia collection for DLB staff, subcontractors and vendors
Lead progress walks and present risk mitigation plans to GC and owner executives during site walks.
Team Development and Continuous Improvement (10%)
Mentor field technicians and project management staff on constructability of larger complex builds
Capture lessons learned and update STC field execution standards and digital workflows.
Completion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on Budget
Performs Other Related Duties as Assigned
Requirements POSITION REQUIREMENTS (ADVANCED LEVEL FOR ALL THE FOLLOWING)
Multi‑discipline Expertise: Background as BAS technician, PLC programmer, and / or electrical foreman—with proven skill in low‑voltage terminations, conduit routing, loop testing, and network troubleshooting
Project Controls: Proficient in working within construction management platforms and tools such as Procore, BIM 360/Autodesk Build, P6 or MS Project, and Power BI dashboards for field metrics.
Codes & Standards: Deep familiarity with Uptime Institute TierIII/IV, NFPA70E, NEC, ISA88/95, ISA/IEC62443, UL508A.
Soft Skills: Authoritative leadership, decisive under schedule pressure, clear communicator with both trades and C‑suite clients.
Certifications: OSHA 30, NFPA70E Qualified Person, PMP, NICETIII/IV (Industrial Instrumentation), Rockwell CREST.
Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management
Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
Ability to work successfully in a remote environment thru effective communication and organizational skills, self‑motivation, proactiveness and resourcefulness in a distraction free workspace
Ability to interpret AE construction drawings, BAS shop drawings, manufacturers wiring diagrams, standards documentation, submittals and product data sheets
Ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, optimize operational processes, and contribute to company‑wide innovation
Ability to follow company and site safety requirements
Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondence
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non‑technical information)
Ability to communicate effectively directly with clients and at times serve as primary point of client contact

Ability to achieve certification for NFPA70E and / or OSHA training as required

TRAVEL / RELOCATION REQUIREMENTS
Daily travel to project sites in local region for duration of projects
Willing to work extended hours and night shifts during critical cutovers and IST windows.
Up to 25% travel to other jobsite locations, this may include travel to any of the 50 US states
Effective May 7, 2025, and in accordance with U.S. federal regulations for domestic air travel, a valid REAL ID (or an acceptable alternative, such as a passport) is required for travel associated with this position.
Travel may involve transportation by car or plane depending on the destination and nature of the business need.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical Technology, or related field
Minimum of eight years of experience with hands‑on installation, testing, validation, construction management, subcontractor management, and troubleshooting of PLC‑based BAS and EPMS automation systems in mission critical buildings.
