Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic (Electrical)
This position installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains large systems for air conditioning functions at the Army Ammunition Plant in McAlester, OK. Salary is $30.48 to $35.58 per hour. Term appointment: 1 year 1 day. Full‑time schedule.
Responsibilities
- Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of electrical control systems for heating, air conditioning, and refrigerant equipment.
- Interpret sketches, diagrams, blueprints, electrical schematics, formulas, and programming for building automation operation systems.
- Plan, design, install, troubleshoot, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment and exhaust systems.
- Perform mechanical repairs to pumps, compressors, and chillers.
- Calibrate transmitters, thermostats, and other pneumatic electric controls.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform the work of an Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic (Electrical) without more than normal supervision.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration trade, installation, operation, and repair.
- Mechanical skill to repair pumps, compressors, and chillers.
- Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and programming for building automation.
Requirements
- EPA certification type 1 and 2 or Universal certification.
- Pre‑employment Physical Examination and annual examination.
- Appointment subject to suitability or fitness determination during background investigation.
