Job Description
Small downtown Ft. Worth law firm seeks a legal assistant to join our team. We practice in many areas of civil law, including business and corporate law, oil, gas and mineral law, water law, banking and creditors’ rights, bankruptcy, real property, eminent domain, zoning and land use, real estate, estate planning and probate, civil litigation and governmental law.
Responsibilities
Support attorneys through various stages of case management
File/e-file documents with courts and/or agencies
Opening/closing files, consistent with firm practice
Maintain files as needed
Provide general administrative support
Backup reception desk
Assist with time entry
Requirements
1+ years of experience as a legal assistant
Familiarity with legal procedures, terminology and the court system
General knowledge of pleadings and proper form for drafting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be flexible and willing to take on multiple tasks
Demonstrate ability to work independently and problem solve
