Job Description We are seeking a Legal Assistant – Insurance Defense in Glen Burnie, MD. The role supports attorneys by preparing documents, managing calendars, coordinating examinations, and maintaining files. This hybrid position requires occasional travel and must reside within a reasonable driving distance of the office.
Responsibilities
Prepare legal documents and correspondence, including motions and pleadings.
Maintain electronic case management system and attorney calendars.
Coordinate examinations for defense experts.
Serve client discovery and other administrative duties.
Maintain files and answer phone calls.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED, minimum of 2 years legal work experience in a business or legal environment.
Prior litigation experience and understanding of legal terminology.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Typing skills with special attention to grammar and accuracy.
Ability to work independently while maintaining highly confidential information.
Effective listening, verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills
Insurance defense or personal injury experience.
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly rate: $28.47 – $31.63.
Gainshare annual cash incentive up to 16% of eligible earnings.
