Taft is currently seeking paralegal to join our Litigation/Bankruptcy team in Taft’s Phoenix office.

Duties and Responsibilities

Displays strong attention to detail as well as critical thinking.

Proactively supports attorneys.

Responds to requests with a sense of urgency and effectively prioritizes work.

Edits and proofreads documents for accuracy and compliance with applicable federal and state statutes and local rules.

Proactively monitors deadlines.

Proactively manages and monitors cases, notifying the attorney of actions needed.

Communicates clearly in a concise, professional manner.

Files documents with the courts electronically.

Drafts documents and filings.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong analytical and organizational skills.

Sound judgment, including the ability to identify and elevate issues.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to communicate effectively with, and follow instructions from, diverse individuals and to provide information with courtesy and tact in person, over the telephone and in writing.

Ability to reason and apply common sense to resolve problems and carry out instructions furnished verbally or in writing.

Ability to perform basic arithmetic functions such as add, subtract, multiply and divide for date calculations.

Requirements

3+ years’ of related experience in a law firm or legal setting.

Formal paralegal training from an accredited college or ABA‑approved program, preferably a four‑year degree program, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proficient command of the English language and standard grammar rules.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
