About The Role
Under general supervision of the Consumer Loan Manager, the Consumer Loan Support Specialist will provide direct assistance to the lenders with loan portfolio administration and provide backup support to the Processors. Loan administration includes providing information to callers, responding to correspondence, and providing clerical support. The Consumer Loan Support Specialist will assist the Consumer Lenders and Processors with new loan applications, collateral documentation, and other necessary documentation. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Represent First Security Bank in a professional manner which includes a professional image, confidentiality, a positive “can-do” attitude, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility and adaptability in meeting bank and customer needs. Perform a second review on all denied loans in accordance with bank policies and procedures. Perform a review on all loans that are not originated, which includes incomplete, approved not accepted, and withdrawn applications. Enter accurate HMDA data in DecisionPro. Set up virtual folders appropriately so loan files can be scanned to Synergy. Work with Consumer Lenders, Loan Processors, title companies, and motor vehicle departments at the state and county level to perfect the bank’s lien position and limit the bank’s risk. Prepare loan packages for boarding and work closely with the Loan Servicing Team to efficiently close loans in a timely manner. Complete all required loan checklists. Work loans maturing list to ensure loan is paid or refinanced by the loan maturity date. Work past dues list and contact customers for payment. Document notes in enhanced collections. Keep current with all lending and collections (federal and state) regulations. Work exception lists, including collateral exception list, and obtain proper documentation to perfect the bank’s lien position in a timely manner. Coordinate review of loan packages prior to final loan documents being prepared and printed. Backup Lenders: assist branch employees with consumer loan applications and information collection from potential borrowers; meet with loan customers, provide product information, rates, fees, terms, and obtain a completed loan application with all required documentation; assist with ordering title commitments, evaluations, and disclosures; review loan files for financial statements, income verification, cash flows, title commitments, and appraisals; maintain a working knowledge of cash flows and Credit Authorizations; back up Consumer Lenders and process loans as needed in the Consumer Loan Origination System; pull credit reports, verify information, and underwrite the loan request pursuant to bank policies, procedures, and regulations; counsel applicants, analyze financial data, determine pricing and loan structure; document all loan files; perform collateral analysis and inspections as needed; communicate with branch employees on loan decisions and coordinate closings with applicants and staff. Obtain an NMLS Number as required by law and have or obtain a notary commission with adherence to notary laws. Keep management informed of area activities and significant problems. Participate in Community Service and Bank sponsored activities that support the mission and values of First Security Bank. Complete required bank and OnCourse training courses within assigned time frames, attend meetings, participate in all consumer loan meetings, and relay information to other employees. QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalency. Desire a minimum of 1 year banking experience in related job field. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY: Knowledge of company loan products and services. Ability to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies. Knowledge of state and federal lending regulations, including Regulation B and Regulation Z (TILA), ECOA, FCRA, and FDCPA. Proficiency with PC software (Word, Excel); typing speed at least 50 WPM; operate office machines. Strong written and verbal communication; follow instructions; anticipate, identify, and resolve problems; meticulous grammar, punctuation, and proofreading. Maintain a positive, professional demeanor; collaborate effectively with colleagues; handle client interactions with courtesy and a solution-oriented mindset. Ability to work under pressure, manage time, and meet deadlines; exercise sound judgment with confidential information. Work independently and as part of a team; willingness to learn and share ideas.
