$23.87/hr - $30.48/hr Registrar - Full Time - 1.0; Variable Shifts (Sun, Mon, Tues, Fri & Sat - Wed & Thurs off)
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Patient Registration Manager/Supervisor, responsible for the courteous, accurate and timely registration of all patient procedures in the hospital. Within this capacity, the Registrar must be familiar with hospital policy and procedures and shall assist in the attainment of the specific goals and objectives established by the Dept. Responsible for the efficient and smooth flow of the registration process. Will promptly recognize and greet patients and visitors. Where appropriate, manages the patient check-in, that direct admissions are immediately taken care of and that all emergency room patients are directed to triage and registered at bedside, following the current corporate or EMTALA rules. May be responsible for verification, pre-certifications, and obtaining coverage on all applicable procedures requiring authorizations. Responsible for helping to meet the Dept. POS goal, by utilizing Charge Estimator, Passport or other applications to request and collect the appropriate amount due from the patient. Responsible for obtaining all patient signatures on each patient form that requires signing and placing in the patient's file. Working with all co-workers to make sure that the patient has the highest care and respect at WCH.
Education
High School graduate or GED.
Experience
Hospital registration experience and/or scheduling preferred. Computer keyboard experience. Must be bilingual, Spanish/English. Competency as a Qualified Medical Interpreter preferred. Knowledge of various health insurance including government, HMO's and PPP's. Familiar and knowledgeable in the use of basic office equipment. For pre-certifications/authorization, must have Excel and Microsoft Word experience. Must be organized and have the ability to work in a high activity busy environment.
