Position Lunchroom Monitor – Plum Point Elementary School, Prince Frederick, MD (Part‑time, 2.5 hrs per day, mid‑day)

Job Summary Part‑time position working in the school lunchroom. Monitor students from entrance to exit, maintain conduct, assist with lunchroom duties, and ensure a safe, clean environment.

Reports To Principal, Vice Principal, or Designee.

Education, Certification and Experience

High School Diploma or GED.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills

Knowledge of student behavior and classroom management.

Ability to work effectively with children.

Ability to supervise student behavior, maintain discipline, and perform general lunchroom duties.

Good human relations, communication skills, and ability to read/write.

Demonstrated success in tasks listed below.

Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities

Monitors students and ensures proper conduct.

Communicates with students and school staff in a positive manner.

Organizes students into orderly lines for lunch purchase.

Circulates throughout cafeteria, assisting students as needed.

Assists with cleanliness of cafeteria.

Dismisses classes in an orderly manner at scheduled time.

Encourages good table manners.

Participates in training sessions and meetings as scheduled.

Works under stress and meets deadlines.

Comes to work regularly and promptly.

Other Job Duties Performs related work as required by Principal, Vice Principal, or designee.

Physical Demands Moderate physical effort, including standing for extended periods.

Unusual Demands Flexible work schedule may be required.

Terms of Employment 180 days per year (student days only), 2.5 hrs per day, mid‑day; pay $15.00/hr. Automatic payroll deposit encouraged.
