Trinity is currently hiring a full-time Social Worker, within our SNUG program. The SNUG Outreach Program is an evidence-based, violence reduction initiative that identifies and interrupts the causes of gun violence. The Social Work/Case Management Initiative will allow SNUG to address traumas experienced by community members and improve access to victim services. In addition, it will allow community members to better address the constant exposure to violence that affects youth, families and communities served by the program - and SNUG staff. Key Responsibilities

Support SNUG staff in their current work with high-risk individuals affected by community violence. Provide victims of community violence and their families short or long-term therapeutic services. Help the SNUG staff process traumatic incidents and how to manage their day-to-day stress. Provide ongoing training for staff and guidance in their work with clients. Create onsite programming including support groups for staff, participants, families of homicide victims, etc. Supervise a site-based case manager who will assist in providing case management services to all victims of crime. Respond with SNUG team to violent incidents in the community. Attend SNUG outreach events. Visit the homes of shooting victims and their families, where appropriate. Build relationships with hospitals and other crime victim service providers to ensure crime victims know about and utilize SNUG services. This will be required to maintain adequate caseload. Participate in ongoing trauma training phone calls and weekly onsite clinical supervision. Adhere to all documentation and database requirements and accurately track work in accordance with VOCA reporting standards Qualifications / Preferred Skills

Master's degree and license in social work or mental health counseling from an accredited university 2+ years of experience working in or near the SNUG target areas (the Capital Region) Desire to reduce the effects of gun violence in our communities Willingness to travel to trainings and conferences, including an initial week-long training that may require overnight travel within New York State, and a twice a year, two-day conference in Albany Desire for flexible work hours, especially nights and weekends, when necessary. Flexibility to support SNUG team in emergency situations, even on nights and weekends In addition to a competitive salary, you will enjoy a range of valuable benefits, including 14 paid holidays, health insurance starting at the beginning of your first full month of employment, and immediate accrual of sick leave.
