Position Summary
Penske Mobile Technician II will assist in repair and diagnosis of major components and replace components under direction of the PFM Asset Supervisor. Responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance and diagnosing and repairing clutches, PTO systems, electric systems, hydraulic/air brake systems, heating/air conditioning systems, instruments and gauges. Major Responsibilities
Demonstrate proficiency in repair and diagnosis of engines, powertrain, electrical systems, HVAC, steering, electronics, bolts, throttle, brake systems, suspension. Perform mechanical reconditioning and prepare equipment for delivery. Identify parts required for disassembled units. Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services. Road test vehicles when necessary. Use hand tools, power tools, precision instruments and welding equipment. Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms and other important parts. Maintain on‑site work area appearance, safety and environmental compliance. Qualifications
2–4 years practical experience with tractor‑trailer maintenance. High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational/technical or certification preferred. Specialized training in repair and replacement of vehicle components preferred. Proficiency in use of shop tools required. Current CDL license with air brake certification required. DOT medical card or ability to obtain. Ability to read maps and operate 26,000‑nonarticulated vehicle. Self‑starter with minimal direct oversight. Basic computer skills for data entry into maintenance systems. Regular, predictable, full attendance required. Physical Requirements
Move, stand, walk, climb, bend, sit frequently. Use hands routinely to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel tools. Work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms. Work in all weather conditions. Lift up to 50 lbs/23 kg and occasionally up to 100 lbs/45 kg. Penske is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
