Overview
Marketing Specialist - Business Development role at Wounded Warrior Project (WWP). The position coordinates and executes marketing campaigns and initiatives for WWP peer-to-peer fundraising events, driving awareness, acquisition, and fundraising among WWP supporters, donors, and corporate partners.
Responsibilities
Assist in the implementation of established marketing plans in support of peer-to-peer fundraising objectives, working with the Senior Marketing Specialist and a cross-functional team.
Advance peer-to-peer fundraising marketing strategies by coordinating and executing acquisition and engagement campaigns with agency partners; deliver on-time tactics aligned with corporate expectations.
Support creative/content development and manage timelines for campaigns (messaging, print collateral, website/app content, emails, multimedia assets, digital ads, radio, and TV).
Monitor active campaigns and measure effectiveness; develop optimization recommendations as needed.
Coordinate with agencies/vendors to ensure campaigns are executed accurately and on time.
Perform print and data proofing; provide feedback/approval to vendors.
Ensure brand and sub-brand consistency across initiatives (messaging framework, visual assets, terminology).
Collaborate with stakeholders and external partners to ensure project success.
Stay up to date on peer-to-peer industry trends and best practices across platforms.
Support and participate in WWP events, campaigns, and related initiatives.
Communicate WWP mission, vision, purpose, and values in public forums, events, and campaigns.
Provide general project support for the Marketing – Business Development team.
Attend required training and meetings (New Teammate Orientation, WWP Cares, ASIST Suicide Prevention, Leadership, culture/team training, departmental huddles).
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Excellent written and verbal communication; strong editing and proofreading skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines.
Strong project management skills with attention to detail; collaborative and initiative-driven.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Experience
Four years of marketing experience.
Two years of experience executing omnichannel acquisition and engagement marketing campaigns.
Portfolio of past, successful marketing campaigns.
Preferences
One year of nonprofit experience focused on fundraising or grassroots events.
One year of experience using project management software.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in public relations, advertising, marketing, communications, business, or related field. Equivalent combination of education, training, certification, or experience may be considered.

Work Environment / Physical Demands
General office environment; temperature controlled.
Up to 10% travel.

Chicago, IL / San Diego, CA / Washington State: $65,945 - $82,432
Washington, DC: $68,812 - $86,016
New York: $71,680 - $89,600
