Assistant Operations Manager

located in Pensacola, Florida. This full-time role focuses on initiating and leading significant process improvement activities and assisting the Value Stream Manager in driving organizational transformation. What’s in it for you

Identify and execute projects across the Value Stream or plant-wide, including identifying improvement opportunities, understanding current projects, determining needed resources, and procuring those resources Align Kaizen events and Hoshin projects with Value Stream / Plant results Lead Kaizen events: identify team members, prepare agenda, conduct training, implement improvements, create and track measures and actions Ensure accountability for MDI (managing daily improvement), KPIs, and Standard Work to achieve desired results Build relationships with production and support staff to understand ongoing operational issues Organize and analyze data sets outlining systemic improvement opportunities Utilize technical expertise and leadership to initiate and implement significant process improvements Provide systems-based thinking to transform from a task-based to a system-based culture Coordinate with value stream leadership on improvements, root cause elimination, and sustainability efforts Serve as backup to Value Stream Manager What will make you successful

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience Strong leadership, facilitation, and meeting management skills Experience solving complex, multi-variable problems and implementing sustainable root-cause countermeasures Ability to lead self-directed initiatives, independently or as a small team leader Effective interpersonal skills with all levels of the organization to address conflicts and facilitate behavioral change Strong communication, writing, presentation, and data organization skills Proficiency with continuous improvement tools (5S, Value Stream Mapping, Poka-Yoke, Standard Work, Yokoten, Agile Methodology, Six Sigma, Kaizen) Strong project management and facilitation capabilities Statistical process control and data analysis skills Computer proficiency in Microsoft software; basic skills in statistical software Ability to pull and work with data from multiple sources (production systems, quality systems, SAP) to identify opportunities What will make you stand out

Bachelor's Degree in a technical field 5+ years manufacturing, maintenance, or engineering experience in a plant environment Line management or first-line supervision experience Lean Certification from a reputable organization Significant experience in a Lean culture Green Belt Certification Experience working with maintenance and shop floor employees Continuous flow manufacturing experience Why join Armstrong World Industries
