Overview Performs a variety of work duties involved in heat treat and coating operations of blades, vanes and OEM parts received from customers. Performs routine maintenance to retorts and retort plugs, and obtains/replaces thermocouples on a timely basis. Follows internal routers, Process Method Sheets (PMS) and Activity Sheets (A.I.s) for specific processes.

Responsibilities

Follow instructions to obtain and prepare source materials (rocks and/or powders) into pans along with activators to achieve desired results.

Load parts in an orderly manner, ensure containers are clear of walls, parts are submerged properly into powder, and do not touch one another.

Inspect parts to ensure proper masking and uniformity prior to processing.

Depending on process, remove masking solids from parts after processing.

Prepare complete paperwork (Loading Diagrams), verify sample/test piece placement within containers, and check part number, quantity and order number against material received.

Move filled boats/chambers to lift posts and attach thermocouples to each level as needed.

Operate argon purger and check retort gauges in accordance with procedures before loading.

Move retort covers using overhead crane; secure load and bolt down top of retort; reverse steps after processing is complete.

Periodically change lift post setups per departmental schedules.

Inspect and move completed parts back into cartons as originally received; move cartons to designated pickup locations.

Complete related paperwork (routers and internal records) following PMS and A.I. instructions.

Maintain a clean work area according to 6S standards.

Adhere to safety rules and wear protective equipment as directed.

Perform other duties as directed by management.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required.

Combustible Dust Training required.

Legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Access to export-controlled items; employment offers conditioned upon ability to obtain access.

Skills & Abilities

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and read precision measuring instruments.

Basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing in all units of measure).

Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions and handle standardized problems.

Preferred Qualifications

3–6 months related experience preferred.

Work Environment

Shop environment with exposure to loud noise, heat/fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals and moving parts.

Salary & Benefits

Starting salary: $21.25/hour

Shift differential: 2nd shift +$1.25; opportunities to train on 1st shift for several months

External hires eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus
