Position Summary The Trustees of Reservations invites applications for the role of Retail Manager at Powisset Farm Store, Dover, MA. The position is full‑time, on‑site, and involves managing the day‑to‑day operations of a farm‑fresh retail shop. Pay is $50,000 per year, with benefits available for qualified candidates. Schedule requires 40 hours per week, including one weekend day onsite.

Responsibilities

Oversee store operations, including POS management, cash handling, order placement, inventory control, and visual merchandising.

Manage budget, accounts receivable/payable, and reporting to align with annual revenue goals.

Coordinate product ordering, discontinuation of low‑performing items, and introduction of new offerings consistent with the retail vision.

Maintain quality control, safety standards, and compliance with food‑safety regulations.

Schedule, hire, train, and supervise retail associates; approve timecards and ensure staff knowledge of product information and store events.

Deliver high‑quality customer service; convert guests to Trustees members and resolve complaints efficiently.

Collaborate with regional engagement, culinary, agriculture, and stewardship teams to support joint initiatives.

Lead weekly retail meetings, staff briefings, and monthly KPI reviews.

Develop and monitor KPIs, such as revenue, profitability, and customer metrics.

Partner with marketing to promote the store via social media, newsletters, e‑commerce, and local community events.

Qualifications

1-3 years of management experience in a food, home‑goods, or lifestyle retail environment.

Proven staff‑management skills and a strong customer‑service orientation.

Excellent written communication and visual aesthetic sense.

Demonstrated interest in farm‑fresh, local culinary and sustainable agriculture.

Commitment to The Trustees mission and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced setting.

Experience with POS systems, computers, smartphones, and basic math for cash handling.

Physical ability to lift 40 lbs and stand for long periods.

Required certifications: ServSafe and Allergen, to be obtained upon hire.

Preferred knowledge of agriculture, meat, and dairy products.

Current U.S. work authorization and satisfactory criminal background check.
