Position Overview
Warehouse Forklift Team Lead 1st Shift
– Ryder System, Inc. – Port Deposit, Maryland
Compensation & Schedule Hourly Pay: $23.50 / week.
First Shift: Wednesday 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Thursday–Saturday: 6:00 am – 6:00 pm.
Warehouse positions paid weekly.
On‑the‑job paid training.

Job Description We are looking for a skilled Warehouse Associate to join our safe and state‑of‑the‑art supply chain environment. The role includes handling retail items, operating forklifts, high‑reach cherry pickers, and using computer systems.
Products handled: Retail items.
Equipment: Forklifts, high‑reach cherry pickers, computer equipment.
RF scanner – advanced required.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Minimum 1 year powered industrial truck experience (preferred).
Minimum 1 year Team Lead experience (preferred).
Minimum 1 year Microsoft Office experience (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
Minimum 1 year prior warehouse experience (preferred).
Valid forklift operator’s license (certified).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Effective leadership skills.
Flexibility to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organizational skills.
Proactive approach to responsibilities.
Maintains composure under pressure.
Works with health and safety methods.
Bilingual (for Québec locations only).
Important Note Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, a road test, and/or customer‑specific background and badging requirements.
Responsibilities
Lead continuous improvement efforts for optimal operational efficiency.
Perform warehouse functions including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
Allocate resources and organize daily work duties to ensure optimal shift/team logistics.
Inspire and guide team members toward improved KPI’s using appropriate leadership styles.
Provide necessary orientation, information, technology, and tools to employees.
Promote health and safety working methods.
Handle day‑to‑day paperwork (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.).
Complete and submit daily reports and propose action plans to enhance operational effectiveness and service levels.
Perform other duties as assigned.
