Overview
Assistant Nurse Operations Manager - Administrative Supervisor Team - ORMC - nights. The ANOM is responsible for the management of their designated unit/department, including nursing practice and administrative oversight. In conjunction with the Unit/Department Nursing Operations Manager, the ANOM provides guidance and direction on all aspects of unit operations including customer experience, budgetary performance, human resources activities, shared leadership, and quality outcomes. This role will oversee the Administrative Supervisor team, ensuring timely and safe patient flow, operational oversight, response to emergency codes, and provision of safe, quality patient care. Responsibilities
Shared 24/7 accountability with the Nursing Operations Manager Participates in recruitment and selection of new team members for the unit through interviews, peer selection, and evaluation of candidates Coordinates with the Unit/Department Nursing Operations Manager and Human Resources on corrective action, progressive discipline, and career advancement Investigates event reports and provides feedback to the Unit/Department Nursing Operations Manager and team members Oversees unit schedules to ensure proper staffing mix for each shift to provide appropriate patient care Maintains oversight of patient flow and intervenes to achieve expected outcomes Performs Nurse Leader rounds and reviews; participates in process/quality improvement initiatives to improve outcomes and standard work Ensures the customer experience is upheld by all team members on shift and provides service recovery as needed Interacts with patients and families to provide instruction, promote participation in patient care, and coordinate nursing activities Leads or participates in staff meetings, GEMBA boards, or huddles; demonstrates ownership of unit and outcomes Performs direct patient care activities as required to meet operational needs Maintains excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment Respects privacy and confidentiality of staff and patient information Ensures incident reports are completed properly and follows up on events as needed Maintains regular, punctual attendance in alignment with policies and applicable laws Maintains compliance with Orlando Health policies and procedures Communicates ideas clearly in verbal and written form to team members and groups Advocates on behalf of the nursing staff to represent patient, family, and staff concerns Implements strategies that promote education, health, and safety Fosters diversity, equity, and inclusion; demonstrates collaborative and conflict-resolution skills Serves as a mentor and role model; coaches team members and colleagues Promotes a safe working environment and coordinates follow-up related to WPV occurrences Qualifications
Education/Training
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required if no MSN MSN, DNP, or BSN with graduate degree in business or health-related field preferred Licensure/Certification
Current RN licensure in Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification current May require additional certifications based on patient population (ACLS, TNCC) Experience
Six (6) years of RN experience in an acute setting Minimum 3 years in some type of leadership role Additional details
