Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a First Line Flightline Operations Manager (Level K) to join the 787 team within Boeing South Carolina Delivery Center Operations in North Charleston, South Carolina on a variable shift. Responsibilities
Ensures that air vehicles are completed and pass certification for airworthiness by overseeing final component installation, systems operation functional testing, modification, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, preflight and postflight checks, release for flight, and preparation for delivery. Interfaces with flight crews, engineering, management, suppliers, and customers to meet product requirements and ensure customer acceptance. Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals. Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, coaches, leads, develops and motivates employees. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
Willingness to work any shift based on the needs of the operation. Willingness to work overtime, holidays, and weekends. 5+ years of experience leading production systems and/or process improvements (e.g., Lean, fab production system, improving job practices, techniques and standards). 3+ years of experience leading staff, teams, production or quality systems initiatives. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
5+ years of experience in the aerospace industry. Possess an A&P or Repairman Certificate or minimum 18 months of practical, hands-on maintenance experience to qualify for an FAA Repairman Certificate in the type of maintenance to be performed. 3+ years of leadership experience. 3+ years of flight line operations experience. 3+ years of functional test knowledge. 3+ years of experience working directly with airline customers. 3+ years of experience with avionics, troubleshooting capabilities, functional test knowledge, release, ticket experience, manufacturing, and/or structures. 3+ years of proficiency using CMES and Velocity software (or similar industry software).
