For nearly 85 years, we’ve designed, built, and maintained amphibious ships, destroyers, and cutters for the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard. The largest supplier of U.S. Navy surface combatants, we are building four classes of ships and pioneering the development and production of technologically advanced, highly capable ships for the Surface Navy fleet.
Role Summary
Note : This position is full-time, 1st shift, located at Ingalls Shipbuilding. U.S. Citizenship may be required for certain positions. Relocation assistance is not available. Occasional or hybrid telework may be possible depending on assignment.
Responsibilities
Source and purchase machinery, equipment, tools, raw materials, packaging materials, parts, services, and supplies necessary for operation of the organization.
Compile and analyze statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives.
Gather information to monitor price trends and manufacturing processes.
Confer with suppliers to analyze operations, determine factors affecting prices, and identify the lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
Review proposals, negotiate prices, select or recommend suppliers, analyze trends, follow up on orders, verify delivery, approve payments, and maintain records.
May prepare bid packages as required.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Must Have : 3 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 1 year of relevant professional experience with a Master’s degree.
Nice to Have : Relevant purchasing and supply chain experience, knowledge of procurement processes.
