Job Summary The Above Ground Pool Product Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic plans for product categories, managing vendor relationships, and driving innovation to achieve growth and profitability. This role oversees the product development lifecycle, including market analysis, pricing strategies, promotional plans, training programs, and new product launches. It requires cross‑functional collaboration with various departments to ensure alignment with business objectives, while also acting as the primary resource for product expertise and industry insights.
Responsibilities
Develop and lead the strategic plan for the category and manage the vendor and product portfolio.
Create and manage sample and display programs.
Provide field and product guidance; manage customer, employee, and vendor conflict resolution.
Act as the visionary for the category, managing new product introductions, obsolescent inventory management, and collaborating with marketing to ensure alignment.
Align vendor and internal initiatives, identify process and product gaps, and create solutions.
Create training content and ensure success of factory training events, dealer conferences, and trade shows.
Analyze consumer needs and current market trends to prioritise new product opportunities.
Create product strategy documents describing business cases, market requirements, pricing, and positioning.
Assess competitor private label offerings and seek differentiation opportunities.
Build buy‑in for the product vision through communications and leadership.
Drive product launches with cross‑functional partners to achieve category growth goals.
Build relationships with vendors to develop and execute promotional plans.
Act as subject‑matter expert, providing training and market intelligence to the field.
Provide direction to Sourcing on price target, levels, discounts, costs, and profit components.
Contribute to annual management strategy discussions focused on improving sales execution.
Lead by example to help the organization achieve sales objectives and plans.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Experience in the pool industry is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business.
5+ years of experience in product development and management.
Expertise with successful product launches preferred.
Significant experience in a dynamic product management role in consumer or industrial products.
Proven experience overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle.
Highly effective cross‑functional team management.
Previous experience delivering finely tuned product marketing strategies.
Exceptional writing and editing skills combined with strong presentation and public speaking skills.
High competence with standard office software: MS Office, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
A valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record (no more than 2 violations within 3 years).
21 years of age or older.
