Position Description Responsible for managing activities related to the scheduling and procurement of material to support all production, repair, spare and prototype requirements. This individual will negotiate a variety of complex or critical items, regardless of dollar value, in accordance with company, customer and military requirements. Supply chain experience and APICS certification are essential. Working knowledge of ERP systems and controls (IFS, SAP, etc.) is required.

Essential Functions

Monitor MRP generated requisitions for specific purchase groups/material commodities. Process purchase orders against those requirements, including releasing RFQ/RFP to suppliers, ensuring purchase orders meet company and customer requirements, and reviewing quotations.

Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers and release purchase orders to suppliers on time.

Work collaboratively with Planning, Contracts & Programs, Design Engineering, Manufacturing and Production, Quality Assurance, and other company locations to achieve business objectives.

Recommend continuous improvement within Purchasing and Materials for potential cost reductions.

Monitor supplier performance (including on‑time delivery) and collaborate with affected personnel or departments on existing or potential problems.

Continuously develop and recommend new sources of supply.

Provide alternate plans in the event of unforeseen contingencies.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field preferred.

3+ years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment required; experience in aerospace industry preferred.

Certifications: APICS, Green Belt preferred.

Working knowledge of ERP systems (IFS, SAP, etc.) required.

Basic knowledge of FAR, DFAR and CPSR requirements.

Must be a U.S. citizen.

This position is located 100% onsite at our Black Mountain, NC facility.
