MC Quality Inspector - B Crew at Eaton. Schedule for the role is Monday-Thursday with hours from 3:00pm to 1:00am. The hourly rate is $19.00 per hour and this position is eligible for a variable incentive program. Salary information is a general guideline and may vary based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications. What You’ll Do

The Switchboard Inspector will verify correct wiring, components, program controllers, and conduct electrical testing of switchboard products and components, as required, per applicable test procedures and/or component literature, with the goal of timely order fulfillment and adherence to Eaton’s quality standards. Essential Functions

You will inspect and Hi-Pot switchboard products produced on all lines, according to inspection work instructions and applicable governmental requirements, to confirm proper function, identify non-conformances, and ensure compliance with customer specifications, safety, and quality requirements. Document inspections on the applicable checklist. You will use Hi-Pot, continuity testing devices, and component-specific testing tools to perform electrical testing. Verify switches and circuit breakers function properly. Verify torqued connections using a torque wrench, per inspection instructions. Conduct electrical and mechanical tests per safety and training requirements and procedures (Hi-Pot). You will examine and verify mating structures (all structures in a line-up) as necessary to ensure the job is complete and field installation is problem-free (e.g., splice plate dimensions, kirk key coordination). You will verify that revisions released to the production floor regarding functionality and customer specifications are incorporated into the product, and that current revision documentation is used. Update POM, test reports, and related paperwork accurately. You will ensure that component literature and necessary product documentation are included with the job. You will thoroughly document and communicate non-conformances as critical quality records, verify required rework, aid problem solving and continuous improvement efforts, and communicate design errors to appropriate front-end personnel for correction and revisions. You will ensure that suspect product is identified at all times to prevent unintended use. Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Sumter facility (50 mile radius) will be considered for this position. Preferred Qualifications

Switchboard experience including bus assembly or wiring. Working knowledge of Lean concepts. Associates degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or Electronics. Skills

Knowledge of basic electricity, current flow, and component functionality. Knowledge of assembled switchboard product designs (e.g., PRL-C, PRL-I, IFS, FDS, MF, etc.). Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Knowledge of Eaton systems such as Enovia, DMM, POM, MRP/ERP (AS400), MQ1 Quality tools. Knowledge of applicable UL codes, NEC codes, regional utility codes, and customer-specific requirements. Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret manufacturing documents, including front views, MIs, Blow-Thrus, Wiring Diagrams, component literature, engineering drawings, and testing procedures. Ability to thoroughly examine each job to understand unique requirements; the switchboard product is a customized offering.
