Job Description Summary
Senior Planner role will have primary responsibility for Supply Chain activities within the assigned Platforms and Product Lines to achieve business objectives, customer service goals and optimize inventory. The role will be responsible for forecasting, inputs to SIOP and IBP for the given product portfolios in alignment with market and financial requirements with the highest goal of increasing forecast accuracy. Successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of forecasting strategic, demonstrate initiative and strong communication skills.
Essential / Key Job Responsibilities (including Supervisory And/or Fiscal)
Utilize analytical, marketing and sales data to effectively forecast global product requirements across a high mix portfolio.
Own the monthly demand SIOP reviews with the cross‑functional business teams.
Lead process improvement solutions to increase demand forecast accuracy and bias.
Monitor demand real‑time highlighting variances from the forecast to proactively identify potential service issues and mitigate future customer impact.
Lead the demand planning aspects for new product launches within assigned platform.
Calculate stocking strategy requirements (ISS) for new product launches.
Responsible for product phase‑out planning, including actions to minimize inventory scrap.
Partner with global supply planners to understand impacts to supply plans and proactively mitigate risk to customer service, inventory levels and cost.
Responsible for SIOP and forecast accuracy reporting, including IBP report out.
Partner with global supply planners to develop global inventory allocation strategies as needed, which may include production prioritization and global Regulatory build strategies.
Provide input and approval for safety stock targets for assigned product portfolio. Includes understanding of calculation, proposals, and maintenance of safety stock targets.
Partner with inventory manager to understand impact of global demand changes on inventory as needed. May include estimated depletion and E&O risk.
Provide input for SKU rationalization, RECODE, and other lifecycle management initiatives.
Query databases for information required for decision‑making.
Provide insight and analyses to Business Unit leadership as needed in addition to supporting annual Business Planning process.
Prepare Executive Level presentations as required.
Ensure personal and company compliance with all Federal, State, local and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.
Other duties and projects, as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Must have strong experience and knowledge of demand/supply/production planning, forecasting techniques, inventory management, capacity leveling and logistics.
Multi‑year experience with planning systems, ERP systems experience required.
Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills to resolve conflicts impacting the business strategy.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and presentation.
Strong interpersonal skills and proven record of strong teaming skills.
Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively engage with multiple levels of management and cross‑functional organizations (Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, Quality, etc.).
Advanced Excel skills to manipulate and analyze data.
Demonstrated customer‑centric focus and experience dealing with global markets a plus.
Detail‑oriented individual with a strong ability to multi‑task.
Demonstrated ability to be effective in a dynamic and energetic matrix organization with continuously changing program constraints.
Preferred Qualifications
Kinaxis/Rapid Response experience
SAP Demand Planning
Forecasting certification
Advanced knowledge of data visualization tools (Power BI, QlikView, Tableau, etc.)
Knowledge and awareness of Lean techniques and Six Sigma, experience.
Education And/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Operations, or related degree; or MBA/MS in relevant discipline.
4+ years Supply Chain, planning and/or manufacturing experience.
Demonstrated experience working in ERP systems (i.e. JDE, SAP, etc.).
APICS (CPIM, CSCP) or IBF (CPF, ACPF) certification desired.
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use sight, and use hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools, controls, and office equipment. The employee frequently is required to verbally communicate with other associates. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch.
