Responsibilities
Overall responsibility of the warehouse department, supervising employees and managing budget and cost control for warehouse operations, ensuring safety, customer satisfaction and employee morale.
Execute material management functions: planning, storage, control and distribution of materials and products.
Coordinate with common carriers to route and schedule inbound and outbound freight and ensure compliance with Department of Transportation regulations.
Maintain good communication with customers regarding releases and deliveries.
Oversee maintenance of warehouse equipment, providing preventive maintenance programs and necessary repairs.
Ensure that warehouse personnel have safe, efficient equipment to perform their duties.
Recommend equipment upgrades and replacements to improve distribution productivity and efficiency.
Coordinate daily scheduling of warehouse personnel to ensure proper manning and efficient receipt of products.
Motivate, develop and conduct performance reviews of subordinates, fostering personal and professional growth.
Generate warehouse productivity reports and account for all labor hours.
Adhere to budget requirements and work toward obtaining company objectives and goals.
Monitor storage charges, scheduling of containers and trailers to ensure timely loading and unloading.
Perform quarterly and annual physical inventory, including preparation of documentation to ensure proper adjustments.
Manage the logistics portion of the Customer Compliant process for Monroe.
Provide daily activity reports and train personnel in JDE as needed.
Support network solutions to keep systems operational and provide training to outside service providers.
Follow ISO procedures, communicate the effectiveness of the QMS and drive continuous improvement.
Maintain the motorized vehicle fleet, including forklifts, semis, trailers and other PIE assets.
Perform job duties subject to change as needed.
Qualifications
Degree and/or combination of experience and education; 4–5 years in the warehouse/transportation field.
Strong planning and organization skills.
Excellent communication skills.
PC literate with P.O.D. Systems.
