Primary responsibilities of HDR's Transportation Engineer in the Austin office
relate to roadway and highway design and include:
Using state, county, and city or other applicable standards to prepare horizontal and vertical alignment, intersection layout, interchange layout, roadway drainage, and right of way plans for transportation-related civil engineering projects; and,
Working with a team in the preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates for civil engineering projects of various sizes and complexity, including:
Roadway Typical Sections;
3D Roadway Modeling;
Roadway Design Cross Sections;
Alignment/Right of Way Plans;
Temporary Erosion Control Plans;
Site Preparation Plans;
Roadway geometric design of horizontal and vertical alignments;
Drainage Plans and Profiles;
Utility Plans;
Paving;
Pavement Marking Plans;
Signing Plans;
Traffic Control Plans;
Quantity calculations; and
Development of Engineers Opinion of Probable Construction Costs.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
6 months' experience in transportation engineering.
Required experience may include professional, internship, or graduate research experience and must include experience in:
MicroStation; AutoCAD; InRoads; VISSIM; MatLAB; and SignCAD.
Accepting licensed and unlicensed candidates. Professional Engineering licensure is not a prerequisite for this position.
