Resource Renew, the brand of Western Lake Superior Sanitary District (WLSSD), is committed to preventing pollution and protecting the environment. Founded in 1971 to address environmental pollution problems in the lower St. Louis River Basin, Resource Renew provides wastewater and solid waste services and oversight for a 530 square mile region around Duluth, Minnesota. Our operations include a wastewater treatment plant, yard waste and food scraps composting site, a hazardous waste collection site, a solid waste transfer station and a materials recovery center. YOUR DAY AS A MAINTENANCE MILLWRIGHT
As a Maintenance Millwright at Resource Renew, you will engage in a variety of hands-on tasks daily. Responsibilities include conducting routine inspections, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and performing preventative maintenance on a range of equipment. You will work closely with team members to ensure that all machinery operates smoothly, enhancing overall facility efficiency. Typical schedule: Monday through Friday during the day. You may also participate in safety meetings to stay updated on best practices and equipment training. Expect opportunities to learn new techniques and engage in problem-solving discussions with colleagues, fostering a collaborative atmosphere focused on excellence and innovation. QUALIFICATIONS
To excel as a Maintenance Millwright at Resource Renew, you will need a strong foundation in mechanical skills, including a deep understanding of machinery operation and repair. Problem-solving abilities are essential, as you will encounter various challenges that require analytical thinking and creativity to resolve. Attention to detail and a commitment to safety will ensure that you maintain high standards during maintenance activities. Effective communication skills are crucial for collaborating with team members and sharing insights on equipment performance. Adaptability is also important, as you will need to quickly learn and apply new techniques and approaches to enhance efficiency. A typical background for a qualified candidate includes an associate\'s degree in industrial maintenance or related field and two years of experience working in industrial maintenance.
