Job Location Virtual

Shift Full-Time, Monday-Friday

The role you will contribute Remains current on industry trends and vendor/application/system updates, ensuring that all software modifications/upgrades are working according to Epic specifications. Follows departmental standards for software configuration control, quality assurance, and version releases; provides documentation on system upgrades and new releases of Epic applications; provides training if required. Troubleshoots issues or system deficiencies and initiates escalation procedures as required; provides recommendations for resolution of the problems found. Participates in multiple cross-functional projects; understands project planning and coordination methodologies using project management skills, tools, and lean methodologies. Actively participates in projects, team, departmental, and other meetings as required, reports status updates, accomplishments, tasks, and any barriers to the manager. Participates in the on‑call responsibilities in support of a 24/7 production systems environment: acts as the primary support contact for the application's end‑users. Collaborates with various departments to streamline documentation workflows and supports the implementation of best practices in clinical documentation. Develops and maintains a robust knowledge of the product initiatives and categories supported, ensuring data integrity and effective communication of findings. Other duties as assigned. Designs and develops test scripts and materials for end‑to‑end workflow testing; performs unit, system, and integration testing per standards, including negative and regression testing; documents outcomes. Develops and maintains system process documentation and outlines process steps using appropriate tools; identifies and implements requested changes to the system. Demonstrates basic functional knowledge of Epic, applicable third‑party solutions, and the Microsoft suite of products. Designs, builds, and configures within assigned Epic system modules and any supporting third‑party applications.

The value you will bring to the team Responsible for maintaining and enhancing clinical and business systems to support patient care delivery. This position analyzes business problems and recommends solutions that align with organizational goals. This role collaborates with clinicians and end users to design, build, test, train, implement, evaluate, and maintain Epic and other associated systems. In addition, this position coordinates with physicians and end users to document workflows, perform gap analysis, and develop future workflows during new implementations. Additionally, this role requires effective communication with hospital leadership, clinicians, physicians, and ancillary department staff. Responsibilities for this role include system maintenance, problem analysis, solution recommendation, workflow documentation, and effective communication.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed

Associate degree in a field of study such as business, Information Systems, or healthcare related field.

Epic Certification or ability to complete certification within 3 months of completing classes

Basic Microsoft suite of products

Demonstrated creative problem‑solving approach and strong analytical skills

Must have strong written and verbal communication skills

Work with general guidance

Rapid learner

Ability to manage multiple tasks within deadline constraints

Basic knowledge of HL7 and API concepts and operating within an integrated healthcare applications environment

Knowledge of clinical/business/technical workflow

Experience communicating complex technical concepts to a non‑technical audience

Yearly participation in ongoing education either formal or through conferences, active professional organization participation, or journal presentations

Associate college degree (as, diploma, b.a., b.s. or commensurate experience) in a field of study such as business, is, or a healthcare related

1+ years of clinical, business or technical background

EMR application/implementation experience
