JOB SUMMARY UT Southwestern is actively seeking an experienced
Carpenter - Door Repair Specialist
to join our Hospital Facilities team. We are looking for someone with strong skills in the repair, installation, and maintenance of commercial doors, frames, and hardware, with
experience working in hospitals or healthcare environments
preferred. This role involves ensuring that all doors—including fire-rated, patient-room, and automatic doors—meet regulatory and safety standards; works under minimal supervision to provide general level skills in performance of carpentry work.
Work Location Dallas Campus; assist other UTSW locations as needed.
Shift Requirement Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required
Education
High School Diploma or vocational school or equivalent.
Experience
3 years skilled or journeyman level experience as a carpenter in a commercial, institution or healthcare setting, knowledge of door hardware, proficiency in the use of large power tools (ex: table saw, circular saw, router, miter saw, etc.).

Licenses and Certifications
Journeyman Carpenter License

JOB DUTIES
Performs variety of general carpentry work involved in alteration, construction, repair, and maintenance of buildings or parts of buildings such as floors, walls, stairways, doors, windows, partitions, bookcases, etc.
Removes and replaces hardware. Installs or replaces linoleum, asphalt floor tile or ceiling tile, or window glass.
Cleans, sharpens, and repairs saws, hand and power tools and equipment, oiling machines and performing preventative maintenance work.
Assists in determining and maintains time and material records for each job.
May supervise crafts trade trainees and/or maintenance workers.
Performs related duties as assigned.
