Job Summary This role primarily serves as the Team Leader for the Kitting Department, responsible for leading and training the team on daily tasks, and assisting with picking, packing, and processing production orders based on demand. The role also includes occasional support for production planning activities, such as coordinating with Customer Service, PLM, Purchasing, and Sourcing to help align priorities with customer needs and inventory levels.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Support daily production activities by monitoring workflows, coordinating team efforts, and collaborating with Team Leads and staff across departments to ensure parts are processed accurately and production timelines are met.
Assign tasks to team members in a fair and efficient manner to ensure timely completion of production orders.
Prepare materials and equipment needed for kitting and production tasks.
Work with office staff to resolve kit‑related issues and respond to customer demand.
Communicate with production, purchasing, and inventory teams to help maintain scheduling accuracy.
Assist in training team members by sharing knowledge and promoting skill development.
Record and share daily and weekly production data to support team performance and continuous improvement.
Help prioritize production orders based on current demand and inventory availability.
Request protected parts for specific orders and report shortages to the Inventory Team.
Support resolution of inventory issues including shorts, skips, and discrepancies.
Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment by following safety protocols and encouraging safe practices among team members.
Carry out tasks as directed by the Supervisor or Manager.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Lead and support a team of Parts Processors responsible for picking, packing, and processing kits.
Provide hands‑on training and guidance to team members to ensure consistent performance and adherence to standard work procedures.
Qualifications Education And Work Experience
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 4 years of experience in a warehouse or parts‑handling environment
Hands‑on experience with receiving (stock and non‑stock) and shipping (domestic and international) parts
Strong teamwork and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Flexible availability for overtime, shift changes, and weekend work
Clear verbal communication skills
Basic computer proficiency, including email and Microsoft Office
Desired Education/Experience
Associate degree preferred
Experience operating powered warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts)
Physical Demands & Work Environment Physical Demands
Must be able to stand for the majority of the shift
Regular verbal and nonverbal communication required
Frequent reaching with hands and arms
Occasional sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds
Visual acuity requirements include close and distance vision, color perception, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Working Conditions
Work environment typically has a moderate to low noise level
May experience temperature fluctuations depending on seasonal conditions
