Role Overview
The Infrastructure Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth and secure operation of server and data center infrastructure at Tokio Marine HCC (TMHCC). This role combines strategic planning and hands‑on execution, focusing on IT operational activities such as installation, maintenance, support and security.
Key Responsibilities
Lead a team of system engineers and administrators to carry out day‑to‑day operations and datacenter activities (on‑prem and public cloud).
Manage the enterprise‑wide virtualized platform to support business‑critical applications with zero unplanned downtime.
Provide 24X7 support to business and application teams, establishing an on‑call schedule.
Oversee compute and storage platforms to support corporate and other business units’ applications.
Manage IT budgets and cost allocation for the services provided to various business units and corporate departments.
Assist application teams in designing infrastructure components to support business resiliency.
Execute lifecycle management of both virtual and physical assets.
Participate in disaster recovery planning and execute yearly application disaster recovery exercises.
Address severe/critical operating systems vulnerabilities on all assets (on‑premises and public cloud).
Set up monitoring of all critical production systems and engage application teams in troubleshooting.
Participate in major and critical incident management calls to restore services and/or performance of degraded services.
Design and maintain corporate backup policies adhering to Corporate IT controls.
Apply the least privilege principle on all corporate datacenter assets and virtual environments to minimize risk of data exposure.
Design and produce reports in infrastructure areas and assess team performance against set SLAs (uptime, response time, resolution time).
Collaborate with other Information Systems departments to coordinate activities.
Advise subordinates on policies, procedures and technical priorities.
Qualifications
Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
6+ years of relevant progressive experience.
3+ years of leadership experience.
Skills & Experience
Advanced knowledge of principles, practices and procedures in infrastructure operations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact and diplomacy.
Superior organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proactive response to industry changes, legal updates and technical developments.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word).
