Delivery Specialist at O'Reilly Auto Parts
Compensation: $11.13 - $20.00 per hour. The actual hourly rate will meet or exceed the minimum wage required for the job location. Additional compensation may include annual, quarterly performance, or premiums paid per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if criteria are met.
The Delivery Specialist will maintain and operate store vehicles to deliver parts and/or products to professional customers in a safe and efficient manner. This position will also collect money on C.O.D. deliveries and pick up customer returns. Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
Essential Job Functions
Operate company vehicles to deliver parts and products to customers in a safe and efficient manner. Use delivery fleet management handheld devices to process deliveries, capture customer signatures, update vehicle mileage, complete daily vehicle inspections, and related tasks. Keep vehicles clean, maintained, and complete daily vehicle inspections prior to operating. Keep delivery vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, handheld devices, and monies collected secure at all times. Pick up customer returns (e.g., new, warranty, cores) and fill out driver return slips. Communicate problems or special needs from customers to store management. Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or damage to the store manager immediately. Ensure fuel tank is filled and lock and secure the vehicle at end of day. Clock in/out according to company policy. Perform other duties as assigned, including customer service, sweeping, stocking, merchandising, running errands, handling core returns, and stocking orders. May occasionally assist customers, serve as a cashier, and/or help with merchandising tasks when business dictates. All other duties as assigned. Required: Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing delivery situations. Driving record must meet the standard set in the company's 14/18-point record system. Must possess a legally required state driver's license and meet company driving eligibility requirements. Desired: Familiar with automotive parts. Ability to operate other light store equipment. Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
