Customer Service Representative - Stony Brook Children’s Service, UFPC, located in St. James, NY. Schedule: Per Diem, Days/Hours As Needed. Pay: $18.30 - $22.87 per hour. The incumbent, under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, is responsible for accurately and efficiently answering and scheduling patient appointments. Requires high-level problem solving and analytical skills with the highest ethical standards. Must be self-directed and capable of multi-tasking in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a high level of productivity and accuracy. Job Duties & Essential Functions

High volume appointment scheduling and phone calls. Schedule appointments following protocols. Obtain, verify and input all information accurately into scheduling system. Conduct insurance verification. Provide customer service to patients. Demonstrate courteous and professional behavior when dealing with patients. Resolve patient inquiries or escalate for solution. Routing calls to proper departments. Perform all other duties as assigned by management. Required Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED. Strong organizational and communication skills (verbal and written). Excellent typing skills and friendly telephone etiquette. Preferred Qualifications

6 months of clerical experience. Experience working in a physician practice. Experience in a call center. Experience with an appointment scheduling system. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of medical terminology. Bilingual in Spanish. Physical Demands

The position is largely sedentary and requires the employee to remain stationary for a majority of the day. The duties involve communicating with patients, staff and medical providers. Any additional physical demands will be outlined by management. Employer Information and EEO Policy
