The Role
Joining Balfour Beatty as a Project Executive in our Charlotte team, your primary role will be to source and deliver on an ongoing project pipeline with ultimate responsibility for all aspects of project success, including positive referrals from clients. Serving as the liaison between the jobsite, the Business Unit Leader (BUL), and the main office, you will provide the support and resources needed by the Project Manager and Superintendent to perform their duties. Your role will include:
Essential Functions
Project Leadership:
Oversee all phases of construction from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring alignment with client goals and company objectives. Team Management:
Lead project managers, superintendents, engineers, and support staff; mentor and develop talent to ensure strong team performance. Client Engagement:
Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, developers, and stakeholders; build and maintain long-term relationships. Budget & Cost Control:
Establish project budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure profitability through effective cost management and forecasting. Schedule Management:
Ensure projects are delivered on or ahead of schedule through proactive planning and risk mitigation. Quality & Safety Assurance:
Promote and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and quality standards across all project sites. Contract Administration:
Negotiate and manage subcontractor agreements, change orders, and risk allocations. Business Development:
Support preconstruction and business development efforts by contributing to bids, proposals, and presentations. What you will need B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. 15+ years’ experience within commercial construction in office or field management. 10+ years’ experience working on ground-up commercial construction projects, preferably in the $1 to $50 million range. Proven experience with project management software (Constructware, P6, Timberline, etc.). Demonstrable experience with cost projection, financial analysis, budget reviews, and labor reports.
