Overview
The UVA Bookstore is currently in search for a responsible and motivated candidate who enjoys providing exemplary customer service while managing the daily operations required within a retail environment. The position involves cashier and computer functions, stocking the sales floor, and receiving merchandise and transfers. Proficiencies will be in accordance with established policies and procedures. The location is Sabre Shop within the Aquatic Fitness Center.

Schedule and Compensation Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends. Work Hours: Average 25-29 hours per week. Position Compensation: $16-$18 per hour. This is a wage position not eligible for leave or other benefits and is limited to 1500 hours of work in a year.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong customer service skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong mathematical skills
Basic computer knowledge including use of Microsoft applications, email, and other basic functions
Enthusiasm for athletics and sporting goods
Ability to operate a POS/computer system
Responsibilities responsibilities include cashier and computer functions, stocking the sales floor, receiving merchandise and transfers, following established policies and procedures, working independently, performing opening and closing functions, and ensuring all inventory assets are secure.
Minimum Requirements Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: None required. Three years of customer service experience is preferred. Two years of supervisory experience is also preferred.
Licensure: None.
Physical Demands Inside and outside environment. This is an active position requiring standing and walking for up to 30 hours per week. The ability to lift up to 35 pounds is required.
