Job Description Food & Beverage Assistant Manager

will work under the supervision of the Food & Beverage Manager. This position is responsible for continuing the Meow Wolf experience with a rotating menu of experiential food and drink offerings, plus grab-and-go options. The role will work day or night shifts and encompasses duties of a Barista, Bartender, Cook, and Food Server. These F&B team members prepare beverages and meals, interact with guests, and assess guest needs to make menu recommendations. Bartenders are encouraged to elevate the narrative with performative and creative flair.

Responsibilities

Perform all job positions needed to operate a Food and Beverage location (food prep, drink prep, bussing, serving, cash register, etc.).

Deliver a memorable guest experience through exceptional customer service.

Perform duties with a creative flair that elevates the exhibition narrative.

Assist in hiring and training staff to provide memorable Meow Wolf service.

Enforce cash management protocols and provide POS training to staff; follow cash handling policies.

Manage labor, productivity, quality control, and safety measures as established for the site.

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and laws.

Assist in planning and supporting promotions and events in the venue.

Maintain vendor and community relationships.

Lead, develop, and manage an F&B team focused on guest service and talent growth.

Listen to and resolve guest complaints.

Coordinate with Scheduling Manager to ensure efficient schedules.

Maintain organization and cleanliness, including safe food handling.

Respond to injuries and emergencies appropriately.

Restock and replenish F&B inventory and supplies.

Assist in inventory management and purchasing with the F&B Manager.

Remain knowledgeable on menu offerings and make recommendations based on guest preferences.

Collaborate with team members to maintain a pleasant guest environment.

Ensure staff compliance with all food and beverage regulations.

To Be Successful In This Role

Must be 21 years of age or older.

Minimum 3 years of management experience in entertainment/hospitality/operations.

Proven work experience as an F&B Assistant Manager or similar role.

Hands-on experience with point-of-sale systems.

Proven experience managing and achieving budgets.

Extensive knowledge of food service, liquor, bartending and service protocols.

Strong service skills and a welcoming demeanor.

Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.

It Would Be Nice To Have

Experience with point-of-sale systems.

Experience in a retail, museum, theme park, recreation facility, or public space.

CPR, AED, and First Aid certification; TIPS certification.

Experience with visual merchandising.

Bilingual, especially English and Spanish.

Demonstrated flexibility, compassion, positivity, and teamwork.

Work Environment Indoors with exposure to noise, dim lighting, visual effects (strobe lights, fog), and confined spaces. Events may require time outdoors in varying seasons.

Physical Demands

Move and perform tasks in varied environments, including tight spaces.

Remain stationary for periods and perform repetitive motions.

Lift and position objects up to 50 pounds.

Work Schedule Full-time with a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Supervisory Responsibility This position requires supervisory responsibility.
