Overview The Marvin Group is a Strategic Partner for Global Alternate Mission Equipment and Sustainment. The Marvin Group designs, manufactures, and supports military systems for aerospace, vehicles, and related platforms. Based in Southern California near Los Angeles International Airport, The Marvin Group comprises Marvin Engineering (MEC), Marvin Test Solutions (MTS), and Marvin Land Systems (MLS). Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment; Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament test equipment; Marvin Land Systems specializes in power and thermal management systems. For over 60 years we have maintained “A Tradition of Excellence” in support of the Department of Defense and global allies, working with programs across major contractors such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon.

Position Summary Perform thorough product inspections ensuring compliance with MEC requirements, quality standards, drawings, specifications, and contractual obligations. Document inspection results and report findings in SAP, collaborate with other members of the quality control team, and contribute to maintaining high product standards.

Responsibilities

Perform independent inspections, validations, and/or verifications of internal/external components to ensure compliance to Marvin Engineering processes, procedures, planning, and contractual obligations. Inspect product using basic hand tools and visual inspection methods.

Visual inspection of mechanical assemblies, soldering, and paint finishes, in accordance with engineering requirements.

Review non-destructive test documentation and supplier documentation in accordance with MEC Purchase Order.

Generate inspection reports in accordance with MEC policy.

Identify and segregate suspect non-conforming material and generate Quality Notification (QN) in accordance with MEC Policy.

Perform first piece validations in support of all manufacturing areas.

Witness and validate fastener applications, including torque, rivets, sealants, etc.

Support all QC areas including Receiving Inspection and In-Process Inspection.

May be asked to perform higher level inspections while under supervision; introduction to GD&T.

Interface with suppliers and/or internal customers.

Qualifications

High School graduate diploma or a General Educational Development (GED) certificate

One year minimum experience as a QC inspector

Certifications in GD&T, ASQ topics, or a college degree in Engineering or other technical fields are a plus

Certificates of Completion in Quality Assurance for the professional field are a plus

Beginning level understanding of hardware blueprints and basic knowledge of specifications and contract requirements

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Able to perform basic math; detail-oriented and self-motivated

Team player with good attitude and willingness to learn

Proficient in basic computer tasks and typing

Familiarity with SAP is a plus; proficiency in Microsoft Office

Ability to lift a minimum of 35 lbs

Work Environment

Medium-to-large inspection laboratory/machine shop environment

Fast-paced environment

Moderate noise level

Salary Base Salary Range (Inglewood only): $46,500 to $58,600
