Mitrata-Nepal Foundation for Children (MNFC) is a nonprofit organization based in Saint Louis, MO, working in partnership with a local NGO in Kathmandu, Nepal (www.mitrata.org). In 2005, MNFC established itself as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing education, healthcare, and support services for underprivileged children in Nepal. MNFC supports 149 children in the Kathmandu Valley through two early childhood centers and a child sponsorship program. MNFC provides cultural trips to donors annually and works closely with its NGO partner. We are deeply committed to equity, inclusion, and belonging, and actively work to ensure that all children, staff, and community members feel respected, valued, and empowered to thrive. We are seeking a part-time salaried individual (20 hours per week) to support our Sponsorship/Communications Manager. The Administrative Coordinator maintains the donor database (DonorPerfect) and basic online accounting software (QuickBooks). We are seeking an individual who works effectively remotely, is detail-oriented, reliable, and organized. MNFC offers flexible, mostly remote work hours, paid time off (PTO), and an opportunity to be part of an organization that makes a difference in the lives of underprivileged children in beautiful, culturally rich Nepal. Applicants need to live in the Saint Louis, MO metropolitan area. The position is part-time (20 hours), exempt, with a starting annual salary of $19,000-$21,000.

General Duties

Record/update donor contact information, giving history, participation, and preferences. Process donations and generate timely thank-you letters, tax receipts, and necessary follow-up communications to ensure prompt acknowledgment and recognition. Maintain segmented lists, custom reports, and recurring reports. Pick up and distribute mail once per week. Enter transactions, including deposits and expenses, into QuickBooks. Make bank deposits once per week. File and organize receipts, invoices, and contracts in Google Workspace. Support monthly reconciliations and maintain up-to-date financial records. Maintain marketing materials. Coordinate biannual sponsor letter writing and distribution of children’s letters to sponsors. Respond to routine sponsor/donor inquiries and notify the appropriate staff or board members.

Qualifications

Associate’s Degree in accounting, business, or equivalent Intermediate QuickBooks experience Intermediate level MS Office experience Basic understanding of donor management databases Flexible hours with the ability to flex time as required Attention to detail and accuracy Skills in collaboration

Physical & Logistical Requirements

To successfully fulfill the responsibilities of this role, applicants must meet the following requirements: Valid Driver’s License & Reliable Transportation — Must possess an active driver’s license and have consistent access to a personal vehicle. Staff members are occasionally required to transport event materials and supplies using their own vehicles. Residence in the St. Louis Metro Area — This position is location-dependent. Applicants must reside within the St. Louis metropolitan region to facilitate timely mail pickups, deliveries, and in-person coordination. Ability to Lift and Carry up to 20 Pounds — Must be able to occasionally lift and transport items weighing up to 20 pounds, such as mail, event supplies, or printed materials. This includes picking up mail from the post office and organizing materials for distribution. Remote Workspace in Home Residence — As Mitrata does not maintain a physical office, staff must have a dedicated remote workspace suitable for organizing mailings, collating materials, and managing administrative tasks. Personal Computer and Printer Access — Must have regular access to a personal computer, stable and secure Wi-Fi, and a printer to complete essential tasks such as printing donor letters, preparing mailing labels, and managing donor mailings.
