Executive Assistant to the Bishop

to join their team in

Marquette, MI . As an Executive Assistant to the Bishop, you will support the Bishop in his diocesan responsibilities as well as manage details that contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of his office.

The ideal candidate will be an active Catholic participant, fully active in the sacramental life of the Church.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide administrative support to the Bishop and other high‑ranking clergy members.

Manage calendars, including scheduling appointments and travel, scheduling meetings, taking meeting notes, etc.

Handle phone calls, emails, mail, and other forms of communication for the Bishop.

Assist with administrative HR tasks as needed.

Compose documents for Bishop’s signature including letters, special announcements, certificates, etc.

Support the coordination and record‑keeping for priest and deacon ordinations, including notifications, certificates, and stole inventory.

Coordinate Confirmation schedules with the Bishop and communicate finalized dates to clergy and parishes.

Prepare and coordinate board meetings, including agendas, packets, minutes, and follow‑up communications from the bishop’s office.

Assist in organizing, communicating, and coordinating church events.

Provide exceptional customer service to church members and visitors.

WAGE/BENEFITS The Catholic Diocese of Marquette puts great value in the Executive Assistant to the Bishop position by offering an

hourly wage of $23 – $30

commensurate with knowledge and experience and a

full benefits package

including pension and health care.

SCHEDULE This is a full-time position working 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday – Thursday, and 8:00 am – 12:00 pm Friday.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred.

Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to handle difficult phone calls and other communication.

Exceptional sense of discretion and confidentiality.

Able to interact well with executive level individuals.

Outstanding problem‑solving and organizational skills.
