Clinical Social Worker (Health/CF) Safety
position at California State Prison, Sacramento (SAC) is a role within the California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS). This notice covers a Clinical Social Worker at SAC. Under the general direction of the Senior Psychologist, Correctional Facility (CF) (Supervisor) or the Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker, CF, the Clinical Social Worker (Health/CF) Safety conducts assessments and summarizes case information to support diagnosis, treatment (level of care), and disposition decisions; collaborates in the formulation of diagnoses; develops, monitors, and modifies treatment plans in coordination with the interdisciplinary treatment team; provides assessments, group therapy, and collateral conferences; documents and evaluates patients progress in treatment; coordinates placement with community resources and the Classification and Parole Representative.
Responsibilities
Conduct assessments and summarize case information to support diagnosis, treatment level of care, and dispositional release.
Collaborate in formulation of diagnoses and develop, monitor, and modify treatment plans with the interdisciplinary treatment team.
Provide assessments, group therapy, collateral conferences, and document and evaluate patients progress in treatment.
Coordinate placement with community resources and the Classification and Parole Representative.
Qualifications
Possession of a valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Individuals who do not qualify for licensure may be admitted into the examination and may be appointed but must secure a valid license within four years of appointment; however, an individual can be employed only to the extent necessary to be eligible for licensure plus one year. An extension of the waiver may be granted for one additional year based on extenuating circumstances, as provided by Section 1277(e) of the Health and Safety Code. The time duration for unlicensed employment does not apply to active doctoral candidates in social work, social welfare, or social service, until the completion of such training.
Education: Completion of a Master\'s Degree Program from an accredited school of social work, approved by the Council.
Unlicensed individuals who are recruited from outside the State of California and who qualify for licensure may take the examination and may be appointed for a maximum of one year at which time licensure shall have been obtained or the employment shall be terminated; an extension of the waiver may be granted for an additional one year based on extenuating circumstances, as provided by Section 1277(e) of the Health and Safety Code. Individuals granted an additional one year based on extenuating circumstances may be appointed for a maximum of two years at which time licensure shall have been obtained or the employment shall be terminated. Additionally, they must take the licensure examination at the earliest possible date after the date of employment.
Pay and Benefits
This job is subject to Section 5, Hiring-Above-Minimum (HAM) Authorization. The authorized HAM rate for this classification is P $8,678 - Q $9,319.
Recruitment and Retention Bonus: A one-time $10,000 recruitment and retention stipend for eligible clinicians, plus a potential monthly recruitment and retention differential during the first year with CCHCS (up to $20,000 total).
Additionally, a $5,000 referral bonus may be available for CDCR/CCHCS employees who are selected for hire and remain employed for 90 days; a questionnaire will be provided during the pre-employment process (including referring employee information).
