AmeriCorps This position will support building baseline information across properties owned by Vermont Land Trust and will create critical capacity to coordinate riparian restoration projects. The Land Management and Restoration Coordinator will support VLT expand capacity for three programs areas: Lands, Restoration, and Forestry. The Land Management and Restoration Coordinator will also play a critical role in supporting the organization with riparian restoration projects. Vermont Land Trust protects land and fosters connections to the farms, forests, and community spaces that define us. This position is part of the Vermont Housing & Conservation Board AmeriCorps (VHCB AmeriCorps). The VHCB AmeriCorps program supports the innovative dual-goal approach to creating stable affordable housing opportunities for Vermont residents while preserving the natural and working landscape. This position is Full Time: Requires 1,720 hours for an average of 40 hours per week for 47 weeks. Member will receive a living allowance of $30,500 (pre-tax) and an education award of $7,395 (pre-tax) upon successful completion of service. Member Duties : Conduct invasive plant and insect assessments and develop associated management plan activities. Coordinate invasive species control efforts on VLT Lands Conduct monitoring and manual removal of invasive plants Participate in Cooperative Invasive Species Management Associations (CISMA) in Northern Vermont. Conduct recreational trail assessments and management plans to address erosion. Coordinate groups on trail improvements. Maintain VLT trails, access areas, and signage as needed. Manage community garden Support VLT’s land management Manage tracking, inventory, and maintenance of equipment used to support VLT Lands program. Deliver educational programs on VLT’s initiatives. Participate in VHCB AmeriCorps Events and Program Initiatives and an Independent Service Project. Program Benefits :
