Overview

A wonderful and worldly family in Washington, DC, near Embassy Row, is seeking awarm, engaging, and dedicated weekend nannyto care for their active 2-year-old boy. The ideal candidate will provide a balance of nurturing care and educational enrichment. The role is a mix of a nanny and a governess, with a focus on fostering both personal and academic development. The general schedule isSaturday and Sunday from 8am to 5pm. The ideal candidate is patient, organized, and passionate about early childhood development. Responsibilities

Always ensuring the safety and well-being of the child Accompany child to scheduled weekend activities: music class, soccer, gymnastics, playdates, and swim sessions Plan and engage in educational, age-appropriate play (focus on social skills, music, art, reading books, studying the solar system etc.) Support curiosity and imagination Provide active childcare while also encouraging learning and creativity Encourage language development in a multilingual household (English, German, Arabic) Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks (health-conscious, no allergies) Support basic hygiene routines (potty assistance and cleaning) Child-related tidying up and sanitization Help maintain a structured, calm, and stimulating environment Adhere to nap schedule Organize and plan stimulating activities, outings, and projects for the child Introduce music and encourage artistic expression - piano experience is highly valued Support educational growth through reading, structured play, and age-appropriate teaching methods Qualifications

Experience as an educator, teacher, or tutor is a strong plus Warm, nurturing, dependable, and trustworthy Works intuitively Comfortable with structured routines and adaptable to occasional variations Familiar with early learning techniques through play Creative and kind Independent, proactive, and resourceful in creating activities Clean, hygienic, and safety-conscious Being able to drive and provide transportation to weekend activities would be a plus Professional, patient, and attentive Fluent in English: additional language skills (Spanish, French, German, or others) are highly desirable Genuine interest in helping children thrive Requirements

Previous experience with full-charge childcare, with the ability to combine nurturing care with educational structure Ability to occasionally stay late or overnight would be a plus Must be able to work weekends Must sign an NDA and pass a background check Legal to work in the U.S. Salary and Benefits

The family is offering $40 to $45 per hour DOE.
