Under the direction of the Director of Special Education, the Student Services’ ERICS (Educationally Related Intensive Counseling Services) ERSS (Extended Recovery and Support Services) Social Worker will be responsible for providing direct mental health services to students with intensive needs, including individual, group, and parent counseling, consultation, and treatment coordination to students and families to improve school performance. Services will be provided in both the school and home settings to support service delivery and safety planning as outlined in the student’s IEP, support their social-emotional goals and educational access.
Responsibilities and Duties Provide direct mental health services to students with intensive needs, including individual, group, and family counseling.
Coordinate treatment and provide consultation to students and families to improve school performance and access.
Deliver services in school and home settings in alignment with the student’s IEP and social-emotional goals.
Qualifications
Education: The ERICS ERSS Social Worker is required to hold a Master’s Degree and license in Social Work (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices and the ability to implement student and family services with fidelity within school and home settings; ability to maintain effective working relations with certificated and classified employees, parents, pupils, and the community.
Abilities: Ability to organize and present ideas effectively in oral and written form. Ability to meet state standards of physical and mental health. Valid California driver’s license and appropriate transportation vehicle.
