Rio Salado College is seeking a full-time in-person Student Services Specialist for the Welcome Desk. This position provides a full range of support services for the Rio Salado Welcome Desk. It serves as the initial primary contact to welcome students and visiting guests, provides student service program support and triage to all areas of Rio Salado, including Enrollment Services, Admissions & Records, Financial Aid, Testing, Advisement, Student Business Services, Counseling, and other student service areas. The Specialist handles inquiries regarding enrollment, registration, admissions, financial aid, tuition, scholarships, testing, orientation, graduation and other program information, and assists new students with self-service functions and enrollment facilitation for assigned student groups. A physical presence on campus is required to best serve students, department and college.

Essential Functions

50% - Primary functions related to planning, coordination, processing, and implementation of student service programs including enrollment, advisement, mentoring and other enrichment programs; assist with international partnership programs recruitment, enrollment and retention efforts; provide staff coverage 30% - Provide general assistance, triage and referrals to other student service areas; work with a diverse population of students, administrators, faculty and staff; provide information and technical assistance regarding program guidelines and applicable laws, policies, rules, and regulations 10% - Coordinate and maintain department and College database information and reporting systems; utilize district-wide CRM; collect data on program participation, prepare reports, identify and implement enrollment and retention strategies; serve as driver for events and college/District sponsored activities 10% - Coordinate and organize department resources; assist with training of student workers and temporary staff; serve as backup to the Welcome Desk; perform other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications

Associate\'s Degree from a regionally accredited institution, and one year full-time of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, customer service, or related student development programs. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications

A. Bachelor\'s degree or higher from an accredited college or university B. Two or more years\' experience working with a diverse student population C. Two or more years\' experience providing in a high-volume office providing excellent customer service D. Two or more years\' experience working with state or federal regulations or policies and procedures as it relates to student services in a higher education setting E. Two or more years\' experience leveraging partnerships or working in a diverse team-based work environment to achieve shared objectives as well as the ability to work autonomously and independently F. Experience using computer or web-based technology in the delivery of program and services (i.e. online databases, Microsoft Office, and internet resources) G. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Special Working Conditions

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: GED Examiner certification may be required for some assignments. Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver\'s License is required; employee must meet district minimum standards regarding driving. Or, if moving from out of state, possession of a valid State Class D Driver\'s License is required; employee must meet district minimum standards regarding driving. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body.
