Aquatics Coordinator Be You. Duke Recreation and Physical Education is seeking a full-time Aquatics Coordinator to join our Aquatics & Risk team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high-impact instructional program and support a dynamic staff of instructors and student workers within a collaborative, mission-driven environment. You'll take the lead on all swim program operations—managing instructor schedules, supporting swim assessments, setting up programs in Fusion, and helping elevate the participant experience across all group and private lessons. You\'ll also supervise the part-time Aquatics Supervisor and all swim instructors and play a key leadership role in staff development. This role does not carry budget responsibilities but will work closely with the Director of Aquatics and Risk Management on strategic planning and operational coordination. Be Bold. As the Aquatics Coordinator, you will:

Direct all swim lesson operations, including seasonal planning, scheduling, and instructor oversight Supervise the part-time Aquatics Supervisor and swim instructor team, providing coaching and performance feedback Serve as the primary contact for program-related inquiries and help ensure accurate setup and management of swim programs in Fusion Lead participant communication, swim assessment coordination, and weekend planning Collaborate with the Director of Aquatics and Risk Management to ensure smooth facility operations and staffing support Choose Duke. Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited institution. At least 1 year of experience in aquatics programming, instruction, or operations Two years of Graduate Assistant experience will be considered one year of professional experience Current certifications in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid Supervisory experience with student or part-time staff in a recreational or educational setting Preferred Qualifications

Master\'s degree in recreation, sport management, education, or a related field American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer (WSIT) certification American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) certification American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer (LGIT) certification Experience with Fusion, WhenToWork, or other scheduling and recreation management platforms Strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated commitment to inclusion and staff mentorship Other Requirements

Anticipated Pay Range

Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD

$19.80 to $30.63 . Duke University considers factors such as scope and responsibilities, experience, education/training, internal equity, and market considerations when extending an offer.
