Job Summary As a BI, Analytics & AI Specialist, you will partner with cross-functional leaders to uncover, activate, and optimize growth opportunities. You will transform raw energy market and customer data into strategic, automated insights that drive millions in revenue impact while democratizing data access across the organization through natural language querying, self-service dashboards, bespoke analysis, and machine learning. This role will provide expertise in the following areas of the business: Design and deliver AI-powered interactive dashboards using generative BI capabilities (natural language queries, automated insight generation) and performance reporting that enable real-time decision-making across retail portfolios. Conduct deep-dive analyses to optimize customer lifecycle value through acquisition analytics, pricing optimization, churn modeling and assessment, customer engagement analytics, and advanced testing and measurement solutions. Champion adoption of emerging AI/ML tools and methodologies, staying current with generative BI innovations (e.g., AI-assisted data preparation, automated anomaly detection, conversational analytics) to maintain Vistra's analytical competitive edge. Mentor and develop junior analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and analytical excellence. Job Description Key Accountabilities Lead implementation ofBI and AI-enhanced initiativesthat identify profitable growth opportunities and optimize portfolio performance across Vistra's retail energy and customer markets, directly influencing pricing strategies and customer acquisition and retention initiatives. Own end-to-end BI solution development utilizing Python, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, generative BI tools, or other programming languages to build executive dashboards and operational reportsthat enable stakeholders to make faster, data-driven decisions. Translate complex energy usage, pricing, customer profile and behavior data into clear, actionable recommendations for Pricing, Portfolio Management, Finance, Marketing, and Customer Experience teams and channels. Lead in-depth descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analysis of portfolio performance and uncover root causes fortrends in channel gains, portfolio and customer lifecycle losses, transactionalmargin performance, portfolio and product mix outcomes, turning findings intoautomated alerts andstrategic action plans. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices in BI. Lead evaluation and implementation ofAI-enhanced BI platformsincludinggenerative analytics toolsthat enable natural language data exploration, automated insight surfacing, and predictive recommendations for business stakeholders. Provide thought leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a cultureof continuous learning, innovation and collaboration. Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years (or Master's with 3+ years, orequivalent 8+ years) of professional experience in data analysis or arelated field. Extensive experience in analyzing large volumes of data using Python, SQL, SAS, R or similar programming languages. Experiencecollaboratingwith data engineeringand data science teamsto define requirements,integrate ML model outputs into BI dashboards,and navigate ambiguous business problems. Experience using Power BI or Tableau for data visualization. Exposure to GenBI and the ability to build it from the ground up. Demonstrated expertise building production dashboards in Power BI or Tableau for executives and audience personas across the organization.Exposure to andhands-on experience with generative BI/AI-enhanced analytics tools (e.g. Power BI Copilot, Tableau Pulse, or similar platforms) including natural language query design and automated insight configuration preferred. Web analytics experience with working knowledge ofweb analytics tools such as Adobe or Google Analytics. Hands-on experience designing and analyzing A/B tests and multivariate experiments to optimize pricing strategies, marketing campaigns, and customer experience initiatives. Solid understanding of financialmodeling and investment analysis (ROI, CLV). Strategic thinker who balances analytical rigor with business pragmatism, excelling in cross-functional collaboration with business and technical stakeholders. Familiarity with AI/ML concepts applied to business analytics including predictive modeling, supervised/unsupervised learning, feature engineering, and model interpretation for business stakeholders. Key Metrics Proactively learns business drivers and customer behavior patterns to design high-impact dashboards and analyses that anticipate stakeholder needs. Consistently delivers accurate, high-quality analyses within agreed timelines, maintaining data integrity standards that stakeholders trust for critical decisions. Development of clear, concise, and effective executive-levelreporting and presentations. Successfully balances multiple high-priority projects in Vistra's dynamic retail energy environment, maintaining quality standards while adapting to shifting market conditions and business priorities.
