Summary Manages processes and teams associated with planning, directing, and monitoring all warehouse activities related to movement, storage, and inventory control of materials, finished goods, tools, and packaging including Shipping & Receiving; Warehousing; Materials Handling; Order Filling, Picking, and Packing; Inventory Control & Records Management. This position will serve as the primary supervisor of inventories and ensure all material management resources are available as needed for the Aviation Facilities department. The role works collaboratively with other Facilities Supervisors and personnel to provide oversight to the City Works Storeroom Module, which is used for inventory management of Aviation’s vendor-contracted supplies, spare parts, and MRO supplies. The role will provide guidance to ensure the City Works storeroom reaches maximum efficiency and that supplies and spare parts are available when needed.
Conditions of Employment The City’s Background Check Policy requires background checks to be conducted on final internal or external candidates applying for any position with the City of Charlotte. The type of information that will be collected includes reference checks, social security verification, education verification, criminal conviction record check, and, if applicable, a credit history check, sex offender registry, and motor vehicle records check. All checks must comply with federal and state statutes such as the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and require the candidate’s written authorization before obtaining a criminal background report, motor vehicle records check, or credit report. Final candidates must pass a pre‑employment drug‑screening test and physical examination. During the selection process, candidates may be asked to take a skills test and/or participate in other assessments.
