About The Role We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for coordinating the procurement of materials, equipment, and services to support daily operations and long‑term business goals. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and can balance cost efficiency with quality and reliability. This is an on‑site role.

Duties

Conduct research to identify potential vendors, evaluate findings, and make independent decisions on procurement matters to reduce cost impact and improve delivery.

Build and maintain long‑term relationships with internal departments, vendors, and suppliers.

Initiate RFQ and RFP as necessary and obtain comparative price quotes.

Negotiate contracts and place purchase orders for all materials requirements at the best prices and terms of purchase.

Negotiate with vendors the handling of late deliveries of products and materials, shortages, rejected receipts, equipment deliveries, and contracting services.

Interface with other departments to determine their purchasing needs or problems, including identifying costs for budgeting purposes and solutions to resolve problems.

Review materials requirements, prepare purchase orders through the ERP system, and verify terms and specifications.

Schedule deliveries on large or blanket purchase orders, ensuring adequate inventory availability while reducing cash outlay.

Maintain records of all transactions, vendor quotes, negotiations, contracts, purchase orders, receipts, and resolutions.

Review vendor scorecard and identify alternate sources, as necessary.

Authorize payments for settled discrepant deliveries.

Serve as a backup in the department.

Complete other duties as assigned.

Skills and Knowledge

Experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of and background in MRP, supply chain, production management, and project engineering required.

Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to work well under pressure and a highly organized self‑starter.

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
